This SRAM XX1 Eagle 12-speed chain was first treated with white spirit and then completely degreased in an ultrasonic bath. It was then hot waxed in Silca Secret Chain Blend. Of course, the PowerLock was also treated and is included. The advantages of waxed chains are absolutely convincing. The chain runs much more efficiently and you save a few watts. On top of that, the waxed chains protect the cassette, chainrings and pulley wheels, which pays off enormously financially, especially on high-priced drivetrains. The drivetrain also always stays clean and chain tattoos and dirty hands and shoes are finally a thing of the past. The drivetrain works perfectly with waxed chains in both wet and dry conditions.

Note: After around 800 km the coating wears off and can be reworked with liquid chain wax. For this purpose, we recommend the liquid wax from our partner Optimize, which you can find here. After riding in wet conditions, the chain should be dried with a dry cloth.     
 
Note 2: According to SRAM's instructions, the chain may only be shortened and closed or opened using the specified tools. According to SRAM, the included chain lock is only suitable for one-time use.
